Mobility Hotels and Guest Houses

There is nothing like getting away for a great holiday somewhere in the UK. But while some people like to stay in one property – a holiday cottage perhaps – for the whole of their stay, this might not suit you if you like to get out and explore a lot of the countryside during your visit.

In this case, mobility hotels and guest houses might be a better option to consider. You can book in for a night or two at a time in these venues, staying in one place for a day or two before moving on to the next location.

The problem is that the more venues you are thinking of staying in, the more you have to work at making sure you book into the right ones with the right facilities for you. For example, if you are confined to a wheelchair you need to know that you will either be in a ground floor room, or there will be a working lift that can get you up to the required level.

Many mobility hotels and guest houses can be booked online, but before you make any bookings you might want to give them a call to make sure they are suitable for your needs. If it helps you can always jot down a list of questions to ask before you phone.

Of course not all disabilities mean you will use a wheelchair or similar aids. People who have impaired vision or hearing will want to know that smoke detectors, alarm clocks, phones and other useful items are designed to be used safely and easily by them too. A quick phone call can put your mind at rest and help you to decide if you have found the right venue to stay in.

Mobility hotels and guest houses are fairly common across all areas of the country as well. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t book in advance. It helps to plan out your route and book the appropriate rooms at the right time, so you can look forward to a holiday that is enjoyable and restful too.
